Daniel R. Simmons is the Director of the Natural Resources Task Force at the American Legislative Exchange Council. Prior to working for ALEC, he worked for the Mercatus Center and George Mason University where he was a Research Fellow of Mercatus' Regulatory Studies Program. Prior to that, he served on the Legislative Staff for the Committee on Resources in the U.S. House of Representatives where he handled endangered species and forestry issues. Simmons has also worked for the Competitive Enterprise Institute specializing in urban sprawl, property rights, and public lands issues. Simmons has a B.A. in Economics from Utah State University and a J.D. from George Mason University School of Law.
Michael Keegan is Director of the Tax & Fiscal Policy Task Force and the Commerce, Insurance & Economic Development Task Force at ALEC. Michael has more than 10 years of state government relations and policy experience, and has written extensively on tax reform, health care, and telecommunications policy. His work has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and Investors Business Daily. Michael is a graduate of LeMoyne College in Syracuse, NY and the University of Virginia.
