Having 25 years of senior management experience in both the private and public sectors, Bill Lauderback brings a wealth of management knowledge and expertise to ACU. Prior to joining ACU’s management team, Lauderback was engaged in an entirely entrepreneurial exercise serving as Executive Vice President of Momentum Securities, during which time he played an integral role in building the firm from a one-office broker/dealer to a nationwide operation with over 20 offices and trading customers in multiple countries. Momentum was acquired by E*TRADE Financial in 2002.
Over the years Lauderback has been active in the conservative movement, serving on the Drafting Team for the Energy Plank of the 1980 National Republican Platform and later as the Texas Coordinator for Democrats and Independents for Reagan/Bush in 1980. He also served as Deputy Campaign Manager for U.S. Senator Bill Frist in 1994.
Lauderback has held senior management positions in government at the federal and state levels. While serving as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Gas & Petroleum Technology in the U.S. Department of Energy during the George H. W. Bush administration, he administered an $80 million annual research budget focused primarily on oil and gas extraction and geophysical detection technologies. As Executive Director of the Texas Department of Commerce, he managed an annual budget in excess of $320 million and a staff of 320.
As a governmental affairs professional, Lauderback previously served as Vice President for Governmental Affairs of Texas Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association and as Vice President of Operations at Bonner & Associates in Washington, DC.
Holding MBA and BBA degrees from The University of Texas, Lauderback has also served on the faculty of the McCombs School of Business and is presently a Fellow at the IC2 Institute at the University of Texas.
